Funerals
By assisting with the essential steps to prepare the departed for burial, making use of our specialised mortuary, and leading Janaza prayers, we lessen the pain of sorrow. We suggest that you get in touch with one of our authorised funeral directors, who will help you with every step of the process—from arranging the burial to releasing the deceased from the hospital. The Janzah, or funeral prayer services, are held at the Masjid and can be scheduled through Islamic Funeral Services (IFS). They supervise the funeral arrangements/preparations, provide the coffin and all other amenities needed, and carry out the preparation (Ghousal) of bodies for funerals/burials. Before the deceased is transported to the cemetery, the mosque makes sure that the service portion of a funeral is conducted as effectively as possible.

Ghousal Services
A committed group of brothers and sisters, the majority of whom have received training from Brother Irfan, offer the Ghousal Service. The brothers and sisters who run the ghousal have a thorough understanding of how to do it in accordance with the Prophetic Sunnah.
IFS can guarantee that a staff person will be on hand to oversee the process of providing instructions throughout the ghousal/wash, which takes place at our specifically created ghousal/mortuary area.
Only a leader authorised by Masjid Ghousia’s management committee may lead funeral prayers there. During the Ghousal, only five family members are permitted to partake in the wash.
Due to security and maintenance concerns, mosque doors will be opened for mourners and family members at 10:00 am and closed at 11:00 pm, respectively, in the winter and summer, respectively.
The mosque office MUST be notified in advance if you plan to use the space for sitting or another purpose. Subject to availability, mosque seating facilities would be provided for a maximum of three days. Before confirming with or telling your family, friends, or anyone else, please check with the mosque’s main office. There will be two rooms set aside for serving food. One is for sisters, the other is for brothers. People attending the funeral are encouraged to park their cars appropriately so that they don’t obstruct the hearse or any other vehicles. In order to respect the mosque as a place of prayer, smoking is absolutely forbidden inside and outside.
