About us
Serving, educating, and inspiring people is our mission. With a long history, Masjid Ghousia has developed into one of the most active Islamic organisations in the Cambridgeshire area. From our Masjid, we provide a variety of services. Along with the daily prayers, we also offer children’s and adult’s education, services for birth, marriage, and death, among many other things. You can get in touch with us in a number of ways, and you can find our address and directions here. Our goal is to create a community where there is a consciousness of God, respect, dignity, and justice.
We serve the community by serving those who represent it
Masjid Ghousia is involved in the religious, cultural, and social life of Muslims who live in Peterborough, and it has a number of objectives and duties. In the society of today, we face many challenges. Over the years, the Masjid’s scope of work has grown rapidly, covering everything from defending our children against extremism and radicalization to advancing the status of women in society. Over the past ten or more years, the Masjid has also welcomed a significant number of New Muslims, and we frequently host large student groups from the UK and abroad for guided tours of our Masjid and ongoing displays.
The second purpose-built mosque in Peterborough, was constructed in 1990. Since it is one of the most well-known religious structures in Peterborough, a sizable number of people visit this mosque every year. Visitors are welcome at Masjid Ghousia throughout the year. We frequently have guests from schools, colleges, universities, and other organisations that are researching topics for projects and studies and want to learn more about the mosque and the Islamic faith. Since it was constructed, the mosque has developed into the centre of the Peterborough Muslim community. Over the years, we have hosted gatherings, lectures, studies, community activities, and educational events on the grounds of this mosque.
we strive to:
✓ The advancement of the Islamic Faith in Peterborough.
✓ To serve, educate and inspire.
✓ To foster Muslim unity and cooperation through fostering racial harmony and fraternal relationships among Muslims.
✓ To aid with the suitable burials of the departed, subject to law.
✓ To promote religious goodwill and foster relations amongst Muslims and non-Muslims to further aid unity and cooperation.
